The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs: Nothing to worry about, but I'm taking some time off

Namaste, dear leader. You need some time off.
Thank you for makeing me smile everyday.

Whatever you do, FSJ, would you Please calm down Wall St? The stock is tanking! Do as you are always so great at doing and calm everybody down, so I won't lose sleep over my portfolio. Thank you.
  • FBO · 1 year ago
Robert, when you get a chance, your and me need to sit down and have a chat. I'm thinking of having a White House blog, but I can't do it, I'll be the president. Maybe just somebody to say "Here's what The B Man is doing today." And maybe you know of somebody capable of doing that.

And Steve, have fun at the Dharma Initiative island. You certainly need the rest, what with helping me with my campaign and doing all the other stuff. We'll be fine. I apologize for not being available, but I have this VP selection to go deal with.

But will Andrea be a blogger? And what about Katie herself? We hear all about her, it would be nice to hear from her.

Real Steve: If you're reading this... We love you. Don't listen to the press, people will do anything to get some headline attention. You are an amazing CEO, a gift to our lifetimes and whatever happens, you have changed the world forever. Your enlightened approach to life has allowed countless of other legends to be born and inspired.

Thank you Steve.... Thank you for the earth-shattering legacy.

You can't fool me. This guy pretending to be Steve Jobs is now just going to pretend to be Jerry Yang and Mark Zuckerberg and Walt Mossberg. Don't be fooled!! And Dublin's NOT in Scotland no matter what he thinks...
  • woz · 1 year ago
Actually, with the way things are going today, I wouldn't be surprised to see the real Jerry Yang fill in for Lyons here.
  • Jerry Yang · 1 year ago
I can't fill in for Lyons, FOOL. I got a company to run. You are extremely and severely and utterly misguided if you are even entertaining the extremely small iota of a notion that I will write Lyon's blog for him. I AM CEO OF YAHOO!. Get it???? I can't write no stinking blog!!! So all you penny ante losers will have to entertain yourself some other way!!! YEAH. Big Star trek convention in Aspen in July. Be there, shmo-brains.

You're gonna be out on your ass in less than a month.

And, you still won't have any chance of getting laid.

Sad thing is, this probably REALLY IS the real Jerry Yang. I bet Icahn's got him all super paranoid, he's stumblin around wearing Kleenex boxes on his feet, growing footlong fingernails, and sniping at Internet commenters.

Steve said to give you a message: "I don't care how much bigger the circulation at Newsweek is, you are not getting a demo 3g iPhone. Or a demo anything. Or a pass to MacWorld. Ever.

"Also, the real Katie Cotton has never heard of you or Newsweek and won't be taking your calls. We suggest reading Gizmodo or Goatberg or something to keep up on the latest leaked news.

"On the bright side, you are free to continue to make as many 'jokes' as you like!"

Steve just got out of his colonic/vegan breakfast and told me to post: "Yes, she is excellent at her job, isn't she?"

I don't even know what that means. I'm just the conduit.

See Cringely this week? "[Steve's] poor health, which I have to admit concerns plenty of people, and for good reason"

Now what could he mean by that?
  • woz · 1 year ago
It means Jobs looked like shit on the stage, and Cringely is a master of the obvious.
  • lastangelman · 1 year ago
Jobs has stopped taking the prednisone, I wish I was that rail thin, again.

  • woz · 1 year ago
    No shit.

Just when the demise of Jerry Yang and Zuckface is imminent.

But then, Lyons isn't too bright and the well has run pretty much dry on this ride.
  • Bono · 1 year ago
Ah, Steve-o me ol' flip-flop. Thanks for the craik, it's been great.

Take care of yerself you big feckin' eejit.
  • SamG · 1 year ago
FSJ, you should know better. Jobso does not take vacations. When he gets stressed, he goes out and starts a new company (like 'NEXT') and then another and then another. This guy is like a rolling stone. There is no substitute. There is no way Jobso would go out and lay on the beach or in the bathtub on the front porch. No friggin way. If he liked to do that, there would be an Apple Hottub on the market and Apple Vacations. There are none. Jobso loves his job. I mean, when your name is Jobs, do you think taking time off makes any sense. It doesn't.

May Jobso live 200 years (or longer) and drive Bill Gates out of his tax shelter, pardon "Foundation".
  • Jerry Yang · 1 year ago
I don't take no stinking vacation either, and my last name is "Yang". Does that mean I am always on the "Yang"?

Of course not. It does not mean that in any way shape, form permutation or variance therefrom.

Now I gotta go. Have no time for this, I have a corporation to run. Bye bye for now.

Tch,tch, listen, people are deserting Forbes and Palm like passengers on the Andrea Doria, take the hint and bail out, and fire Paul, now, he's probably ABKCO'd all your royalties and other revenue to some OBU in the Caribbean or the Arabian Gulf (Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dubai).
  • An_Optimist · 1 year ago
This blog has been fun, but it will lose a lot of steam over the summer. The guest writers in the past have been wretched and lacking in humor. In fact, the FSJ blog may be dead.

I'll speculate that you've gotten bored with the blog persona, so you've decided to capitalize on your new literary fame by writing a new novel that has nothing to do with any of this.
  • woz · 1 year ago
Yeah, Lyons is researching for a new book on Jerry Yang.
  • lastangelman · 1 year ago
    Nope, 'twould be fun, tho'.
My fun for now is seeing both Yahoo! and Microsoft making Carl Icahn look like an idiot. Ballmer is especially enjoying screwing with Icahn, making him look bad to the shareholders. God knows how many people wanted to make Icahn look like a twerp for once, totally out of his element. Watch the WSJ abandon Icahn and root for Yahoo!, Rupert has it in for Carl, too.
  • woz · 1 year ago
    Yeah, that would be nice.

As a bonus, they could make Mark Cuban look like an even bigger idiot.
  • lastangelman · 1 year ago
That's pretty tough, Cuban did that job himself with that stupid Apprentice rip-off, The Benefactor. Oops, I almost forgot, Dancing With The Stars - he may be be a Maverick but he ain't a Star.

    Enjoy your rest FSJ!
  • lastangelman · 1 year ago
FSJ's alter ego, Steve Lyons, has been poached folks - whether that means he'll still write for Forbes, or even as FSJ on this blog, well, is up in the air.

If this is the end, well it couldn't come at a better time, very Neil Stephenson-ish, Apple on the verge of reclaiming its crown from Microsoft and the new pretender Google as ubiquitous monopolist but one upping all, producing hardware, software and now cloud services, while fearless beloved leader inspires more fear about his health, just because he slimmed down and stopped taking the prednisone but insists on wearing the now baggy jeans, MEANWHILE, Hillary threat has been quelled for now, and the Barry seems on the verge of being the next POTUS, yet, nothing is quite resolved but possibilities are endless.

Good Luck, Lyons, don't forget to pull mossy old Goatberg's beard every now and then, ... and one more thing ...

    openSUSE still rules!

    B O O M !

    There, I said it, ha,ha,

    is SJ ill?
His loss of weight is visible from his last keynote.
Question is how come he looses so much weight?
    Why?
    A cancer may be?

but the fact is he was really mentioning those very same words during
his last press conference after the WWDC iphone 2.0 launch.
    why?

I am just a product manager of a Location Based Services norweguian group, based in Spain, quite a paradisal place too :) and I have the command from my boss to contact with the person in charge of Location based services at Apple in san Francisco. Why not with Steve Jobs? I answered to him. What I have to offer is really interesting, so would you please or anyone of this blog can tell me who is the right one in Apple about Locaton services? Now the new iPhone comes with a GPS inside. Our application is based on navigation and location on real imagery. Can anyone please help me?
